Sometimes a blogger at the same time working as a web developer like me gets strangled too much with Internet work. As far as I can remember, the way I did my breaks in the past few months was dancing in front of my workplace like a freaking idiot. Well actually, I did that in hopes that it would slowdown the growth of my belly as I increasing noticed and tremendously alarmed seeing it like a sideway mountain on my torso. LOL

For a change, I went back to my old vicious hobby: playing computer game. As you can see, the game I am playing these days is World of Warcraft (WoW) The Burning Crusade. It’s not really new, however for me it is, because we don’t have the full, paid version here in the Philippines. So, I just play WoW on Oblivion Server (an international private server) and to tell you, it is free and the game rocks.

It Started With Super Mario

The first computer game I played in my life is Super Mario at age of three. We used to have a Nintendo’s Family Computer lent to us by our neighbor. My parents noticed how good I was at playing that game considering my early age. For many years since childhood until I graduated in elementary, Super Mario was still my most favorite game. When I earned little money from selling foods from the street, I would always spare some coins to pay Super Mario World in game machines (which required at least one peso (PHP 1, Philippine peso) to play a game for five minutes). Super Mario was the best computer game in my childhood days.

PlayStation Advent: Brave Fencer Musashi

There was a moment in my high school days when I almost completely forgot about playing computer games due to my addiction watching Japanese animes such as Ghost Fighter, Flame of Recca and Monster Rancher. However, when my relative got a PlayStation console from her parents working in Las Vegas, United States, she completely enticed me to come to her place everyday doing adventure and playing our favorite game, Brave Fencer Musashi. Since then, the love of Brave Fencer Musashi led me to more advanced role playing games like Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9. I became computer game addict once again and that definitely influenced the course I got in college which was Bachelor in Science in Information Technology (BSIT). Computer games have inspired me to do programming across different languages and I even attempted to write text-based role-playing game written from C++ and Visual Basic dubbed as "Academia."

And Now: The World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft was released way back in November 2004 when I was still in college. And I started playing this game on a private LAN server while I was working on my thesis. It was only after college, when I got formal work at home and got a decent laptop that I was able to play this popular game online on Oblivion Private Server.

As expected, the World of Warcraft game experience is very good. This is the best game to play if you want to kill time. However, I do not recommend this if you work at home or you aren’t disciplined enough to follow strict schedules. World of Warcraft can definitely eat your time and you still crave to play the game after several hours. You can definitely lose your job if you play this because it will entice you with its countless quests and adventures waiting in the world of Azeroth. Blizzard has announced that a World of Warcraft movie will be coming out in 2009.

World of Warcraft game on Oblivion private server nowadays is pretty good than its previous months. My character is a Human Mage named Magijohn with Enchanting and Tailoring as main professions.

The server is more stable now (though there are still bugs on some quests). Usually there are around 20 to 55 players online but its members count is beyond a hundred. While the WoW quests are good enough to play the game, raids, PvPs and grouping for quests make the gameplay excellent. I was able to make friends with games from Europe and America who chose not to play with the official game. I highly suggest that try playing World of Warcraft on Oblivion server and have fun.
