And it works ok untill I do a windows update. Apparently there’s something being overwritten on some updates, that saving settings restores.

try disable UAC and install in C://Vertrigoserv and NO in C://Program File/… ang work perfect!!!!

I’m very happy to resolve this i had BSOD too!!!!

Have you tried typping “Win32DisableAcceptEx” at the first line of httpd.conf?
It solved my Blue Screen of Dead problem at Vista.

I found something on the web that works, you can follow these steps

@ the startup screen DON’T press the hide window & start server button. That will give you the bluescreen.

instead press program links under settings

@ the nextwindow press save settings & restart server.

It’s not perfect but it’ll work.

This problem has plagued me for awhile now. I am also fed up… i might switch to wampserver soon.

hey john, im trying to start a wireless company and have read good reviews about the VertrigoServ program to manage web caching. I believe that would help me greatly to run my wireless network having those pages cached on my server. I have installed it but am a bit stumped as to how to configure it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I use local server on my PC to develop websites in PHP and MySQL. It’s faster this way. It’s not possible for me to develop sites directly on remote web server because it’s slower.

What are you using the server for anyway? Web Site testing?

When I ran my server, I installed all them things individually. The server ran flawlessly.

If it wasn’t due to the fact that (at the time) my ISP’s upload speeds were just at 1MB/s and it was on my personal computer and it shared my regular use and internet habits, and that I didn’t have any power backup if the power went out, I would host all my sites.

Fortunately I have the Rudolf Plan with THC and have the plan for life and never have to pay a cent any more, so hosting isn’t an issue.

If I ever get back into serious web site development/design, I’ll have to look up this server since I don’t think I’ll have the patience to install all the components one by one again.
